The Hue ‘n’ I Art Gallery, PLASMA, was established in 2005 with the aim to assist children with blood disorders in Calcutta, India. The gallery donates 25% of its earnings to these children and conducts free art therapy workshops for them. We also organize blood drives in conjunction with multiple blood banks in India.
PLASMA is a one-of-a-kind, egoless, no-label art gallery. Unfortunately, the recent emphasis in the Indian art industry is on labels rather than the actual artwork. Buyers seem to be more interested in attaining artwork by a certain artist for the sole purpose of investing or simply display them as trophies. This shift has taken us far away from the true essence of art! Many talented artists find it difficult to display their artwork at galleries owing to the fact that they are not considered to be ‘established artist’. PLASMA supports all artists, especially those who are struggling to share their art with the world. We also work with artists of non-profit organizations.
PLASMA envisions a world where there is free self-expression, guided by what lies within rather than market trends. Since there are no labels, buyers are encouraged to make their selection solely on the basis of their connection with the artwork. This demonstrates that these purchases are based on pure passion, love, and respect for free artistic expression.
